BALTIMORE, June 6, 2024―Duane Morris partner Jacqueline Brooks was selected as a Women Who Mean Business honoree by the Baltimore Business Journal. This award recognizes Baltimore’s top women leaders who have excelled in their industry by showing innovation, perseverance, and great success.
The honorees will be announced at an event on August 1 at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve in Hanover, Maryland. Winners will also be recognized in the August 2 edition of the Baltimore Business Journal.
Brooks is passionate about community service and pro bono work. As a fellow of the Maryland State Bar Association Leadership Academy, Brooks helped lead a small-business boot camp in West Baltimore that provided aspiring entrepreneurs and small-business owners with seminars on business planning and law.
Brooks concentrates her practice in business and commercial law, counseling clients in mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, private offerings of debt and equity securities, corporate and REIT governance and shareholder derivative and dispute matters, including shareholder demand responses and special committee issues. She has experience representing public companies, privately owned and managed companies, nonprofit organizations and startup companies and provides counsel to these organizations regarding corporate matters.
